Who will be speaking at the conference?
Mike Mayer, PhD
Prior to joining CRA, Senior Partner, Dr. Michael “Mike” Mayer was the Executive Director of the Institute on Complex Disabilities for 12 years. He also has been providing cutting-edge training and consultation services internationally since 1990.
Mike Beers
Speaking topics: leadership, advocacy, youth outreach, comedy
Mike was appointed to the President’s Task Force on Employment of Adults with Disabilities Youth Advisory Council. He is President of Alliance for Disability and Students of the University of Montana (ADSUM) a student disability rights group, and works as a Peer Advocate for Summit Independent Living Center in Missoula, Montana.
Andraéa Lavant
Andraéa Lavant is the Project Coordinator for the National Consortium on Leadership and Disability for Youth housed at the Institute for Educational Leadership in Washington, D.C . She has worked with a number of groups such as the National Youth Leadership Network and the National Council on Disability (where she serves as the Vice-Chair of the Youth Advisory Committee) and spoken or served as staff at multiple state Youth Leadership Forums.
How?
20 young people with disabilities will be selected to participate at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. This will be held on July 18-20, 2010. Youth Leadership Forum will cover expenses.
