The annual Surfer’s Healing event will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010. Surfer’s Healing was founded by Israel and Danielle Paskowitz, parents of a child with autism. Their son, Isaiah, was able to enjoy relief from sensory overload while surfing with his dad, a former competitive surfer. Israel and Danielle decided to share this positive experience with others, and now host day camps from California to Puerto Rico to North Carolina and beyond.
Registration for the Wrightsville Beach Day Camp begins May 15, 2010—and fills up almost immediately.
Here some comments from their guest book online:
Thank you so much for the wonderful experience my children, and my wife and I, had at the Long Beach surf camp. Both my kids have developmental disabilities and your staff handled them perfectly. The children were able to stand up on the boards and it turns out boy #2 is pretty good at it. The self esteem and physical self awareness that your program helps develop is a wonderful tool for kids all along the spectrum. I saw a few kids crying before going out on the boards, I only saw big grins when they came in. Thanks again for a great day.
I can’t find the right words to describe the beauty of this moment. We are still amazed by your patience, force and faith. We met heroes today. Merci beaucoup et Au revoir.

Mark your calendars now! Maybe YOUR child will be one of the lucky ones, hanging ten with Izzy and company…
