Constituent Questions
The Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC) employs a group of Autism Resource and Connection Specialists who may be able to help you, your staff, and your constituents with questions and issues related to autism spectrum disorder.
These staff members are all people with the lived experience of parenting children with autism and have professional knowledge in navigating complex health, disability, and education systems. We can help people learn more about autism, connect them with community resources, and help empower them to be the best advocate for themselves and/or their family member.
You can connect with them by calling our office at 1-800-442-2762 or by filling out a “Talk with A Specialist” form here.
Public Policy Priorities
ASNC issues two-year policy targets to align with the legislative and budget cycle. We seek input on those policy targets from community members, consider the legislative outlook, and decide which issues we will work on to create policy changes.
To learn more about issues that we work on with the legislature and decision-makers visit our Public Policy Priorities page.

Staff Expertise
Please contact Jennifer Mahan, Director of Public Policy, at jmahan@autismsociety-nc.org, or 919-609-5662, for more information about these and other policy issues that affect people on the autism spectrum.
