Conference: Giving a Voice to People with Autism

We are pleased to announce that on November 16, Tracy Vail, MS, will be the presenter for the Autism Society of North Carolina’s third annual fall conference at the Odeon Theater at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex.

Ms. Vail brings more than 30 years of experience in working with individuals on the autism spectrum to the conference.

This conference focuses on developing functional social communication skills in children and adults with autism spectrum disorder who are non-vocal or minimally vocal. These skills are critical to success at home, in school, at work, and in the community.

Join us to learn:

  • Explore how to select the most appropriate form of communication to match the individual needs of each learner
  • Review research-based strategies for teaching communication
  • Explore some of the more popular speech-generating devices and applications

The conference will also feature:

  • Morning coffee
  • Lunch
  • Opportunities to speak with ASNC staff
  • Chance to network with area families affected by autism
  • ASNC Bookstore

Certificates of attendance are available.
Spanish translation will be available.

For more information, contact David Laxton, Director of Communications, by email or at 919-865-5063.
