ABA in Schools – Understanding the Issues

Public school systems across North Carolina are seeing a rise in the number of students with autism. Because the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) ensures students with a disability are provided with a Free Appropriate Public Education that is tailored to their individual needs, there is often confusion about what that looks like for each autistic student.

The aim of this webinar is to differentiate between Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) practice and how ABA principles (the science of behavior analysis) may be used as part of an effective education plan for students with autism.

This webinar is led by parents and clinical professionals with expertise in autism, special education and applied behavior analysis. They discuss and clarify differences between evidence-based practices and comprehensive methodologies and outline factors for families to consider if they choose to pursue behavior analytic services in public schools.
