Welcome to Autism Awareness Month

It is Autism Awareness Month – a time for people to learn more about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and better understand how they can show their support and appreciation for those whose lives are impacted by autism.

Every day at the Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC), we focus not only on awareness, but on appreciation, acceptance, and inclusion of people with autism. We want people with autism, and their families, to feel welcome in their communities.

We want people to be familiar with the challenges of autism, so they can better understand how to engage with individuals on the spectrum. We also want them to see how their lives can be enriched by including people with autism in their lives. People with autism have much to teach us. They have unique gifts that make our communities better places for all of us to live.
