A Letter of Gratitude and Love from the Clinical Team

A Letter of Gratitude and Love from the Clinical TeamDuring this Thanksgiving season, members of the Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC) clinical team reflected on their gratitude for the individuals and families they serve. Here is what they had to say, in their own words.

“What a blessing it is to work with these families. It feels like such an honor to be welcomed into their homes with the hope to make a positive change in their lives. It’s truly the small moments, the laughter, the challenges, and the progress, that really add up to something meaningful. I am beyond thankful for the privilege to be a part of these amazing individuals’ lives.”

“I am grateful for the dedication families have to implementing behavioral strategies outside of session—it’s amazing. Even with so much on their plate, they do an amazing job working with their Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) team to ensure their child is receiving consistent interventions and showing up for sessions. I am grateful for all families I work with and their dedication to collaborating with technicians and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).”

“It’s humbling to be trusted to care for, to teach, to form relationships with the person you love most in the world.”

“It’s humbling to be trusted to care for, to teach, to form relationships with the person you love most in the world. I’m grateful to all of the families who have let me be even a small part of your life and your journey. Thank you for showing me every day what it means to love unconditionally and how to show up for your child, in every way that matters. I’m a better clinician, better parent, and better human being because of you.”

“I am thankful for the connectedness I have with my clients and their families—how lucky I am to have clients that share their interests passionately with me, tell me stories that make me laugh, and trust me with their secrets and not-so-golden moments so that I can do my best to help them navigate. I am thankful for the opportunity to help clients and families find clarity through evaluations, for my many amazing, silly Social Connections clients, and for the community that neurodivergent identity can bring.

“I am beyond thankful for the privilege to be a part of these amazing individuals’ lives.”

“I am grateful for and humbled by the many professional and life lessons I have learned from clients and families. They demonstrate what grit and resilience looks like. As a parent myself, I am reminded to find joy, celebration, and hope in the little things. When we pause to experience those things, and when we add those moments up, that is what life and living is really all about. Thank you for teaching me.

“I am thankful for the families that have opened their lives to us clinical professionals at ASNC, trusting us to make a positive impact on their children’s lives. I only hope I can do right by you, learn from you, laugh with you, and grow with you.”

“I am deeply grateful for the collaborative partnerships we build with families. Together, we create supportive environments where our clients can truly thrive. It’s an honor to connect with such incredible families who trust us with their children’s well-being—their dedication and resilience are truly inspiring. I am thankful for the opportunity to be part of their lives and to witness the positive impact we create ITs together.”

“I’ve been able to keep in touch with many of my past clients at ASNC and I love that I still get to be a small part of their lives after they graduate. I’m grateful to be a part of a community that walks with families through all the joys and challenges of life. ASNC truly is a family.”
