On Saturday, April 13, the Pitt County Chapter of the Autism Society of North Carolina sponsored the 5th Annual Eastern Run/Walk for Autism. With 780 participants and 50 volunteers, the Run/Walk is a significant fundraising and awareness event that supports local families affected by autism.
The $38,000 that was raised will be allocated to local initiative such as Camp Royall scholarships for Pitt County residents, the Greenville TEACCH Summer Social Club, and the ECU Pirate Speech Camp. Donations are still being accepted at www.easternrunwalkforautism.com.
